There are 2 ways to install Ezidoesit Workgroup - single-user mode and multi-user mode. Single-user is where the Ezidoesit data is on the local PC whereas multi-user mode is where the data is on a central SQL Server database.

In single-user mode you can install the Ezidoesit Workgroup Team Management Client onto a computer which is running Ezidoesit Enterprise and has a local SQL Server database (the data is on the computer not in a central database).

First install Ezidoesit Enterprise and then install the Ezidoesit Workgroup Team Management Client.

In multi-user mode, which is what Ezidoesit Workgroup Edition is designed for and which will give the full and complete benefit of all of its features you need to do the following.

Ezidoesit Workgroup Edition Server Manager

The install of Ezidoesit Server Manager should be run on the server where Microsoft SQL Server (2005 or 2008) is installed and the Ezidoesit database will be created on this server.

The Server Manager installation will install the Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0 and Windows Installer 3.1 prerequisites if they are not already installed on the server.

Once the above prerequisites are installed, the Ezidoesit Server Manager is installed along with the install files for Ezidoesit for Outlook 2003 and 2007 and the Team Management Client (this is so these programs can then be installed from a server location onto individual workstations). Download the Ezidoesit Workgroup Server Manager document for the complete instructions (on the website on the Support menu under Documentation).

You do need to download and install Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Express Edition separately to installing Workgroup Server Manager. You can either download and install it from the Server Manager SQL Server Setup tab or from the link below.

You can also use any purchased version of Microsoft SQL Server (either 2005 or 2008) or the version of SQL Server that comes with Windows Small Business Server.
