All of the Ezidoesit software add-ins for Microsoft Outlook install the same way, take the same approximate time and require similar software prerequisites. The install also requires broadband Internet access from your PC because the install process downloads support files from the Microsoft website.
Ezidoesit Install
Double click on the Ezidoesit installation EXE file to start the installation. This file will be named something like this - EzidoesitEnterprise_1_2_85_2007.exe. The name will depend on the version of Ezidoesit and the version number.
The Ezidoesit installation requires that you have local administrator rights on your PC. On Microsoft Windows 7 and Microsoft Windows Vista, select the Ezidoesit install file, right mouse click on the file and select the Run as Administrator option.
Microsoft Outlook 2010
The Ezidoesit installation for this version of Outlook will install the following components from Microsoft if they are not already installed on your PC.
• Microsoft .NET Framework 4
• Microsoft Visual Studio 2010 Tools for Office Runtime
• Windows Installer 4.5
• SQL Server 2008 Express Edition
Microsoft Outlook 2007
The Ezidoesit installation for this version of Outlook will install the following components from Microsoft if they are not already installed on your PC.
• Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 SP1 (earlier versions of Ezidoesit installed 3.5).
• Microsoft Office 2007 Primary Interop Assemblies & Microsoft Visual Studio Tools for Office 3.0 runtime.
• Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Express Edition SP2 or Microsoft SQL Server 2008 Express Edition.
Microsoft Outlook 2003
The Ezidoesit installation for this version of Outlook will install the following components from Microsoft if they are not already installed on your PC.
• Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 SP1 (earlier versions of Ezidoesit installed 3.5).
• Microsoft Office 2003 Primary Interop Assemblies & Microsoft Visual Studio 2005 Tools for Office Second Edition runtime.
• Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Express Edition SP2 or Microsoft SQL Server 2008 Express Edition.
The install time is mostly spent installing the latest version of the Microsoft .NET Framework or runtime file and Microsoft SQL Server. All of the above items should be installed in approximately 20 minutes but this may vary slightly on different PCs.
If you have any of the above Microsoft components already installed on your PC then the install time will take less time.
Once the above files are installed future updates to the Ezidoesit software will take
about 30 seconds to install.
Important Note: In Windows 7 and Windows Vista a message to re-start your computer will display in the bottom right of the screen. Do Not restart - Choose restart later. If the Ezidoesit install process asks you to re-install your computer answer Yes.
Updates to Ezidoesit are on the Ezidoesit website under the Updates menu.
